Mark Moynihan
Born in Birkenhead Merseyside, Mark initially trained as an industrial mechanic and after a stint in the army has worked in and around the offshore industry for most of his working life.
He uses the genre of portraiture in an attempt to understand the diverse and unpredictable nature of people that surround him.
Drawing is fundamental to his practice and often combines a wide range of approaches and mediums in order to draw from and contest traditional representations of the human individual.
He is a huge advocate for the inclusion of Art in Hospitals and firmly believes it is integral to the healing process.
He also regularly commits to artist residencies both in the Uk and abroad in order to focus and develop new ways of working.
