John Johnstone
John (Johnny) Johnstone is an acclaimed Scottish contemporary artist, working in the figurative style.
The Dundee-based painter studied under Alberto Morrocco and David McLure at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee.
He is mainly known for his often humorous and satirical depictions of everyday life, mythological and allegorical subjects and fantasy paintings.
John is the creator of a private world, a product of an essentially solitary life, a life spent dreaming, thinking and observing, apparently on the margins – making beautiful paintings, drawings and etchings, with a kind of transcendent innocence.
